Obtaining the National ID as a legal Document is One of Basic Legal Rights that Facilitates Access of People to Humanitarian Assistances

Yemen AL Khair for Relief and Development Foundation (YARD) has implemented the legal support activities during 2023 in AL Jawf governorate.  The main implemented activity is Cash for ID program which helps displaced HHs have the national IDs by which they can access humanitarian assistance. YARD legal team has also provided legal counselling and awareness activities to the persons in need focusing on legal topics such as the IDs issuance procedures, Nafakah issues, divorce etc. The program targeted 269 BNFs of displaced, returnees and persons with disabilities that were unable to issue IDs in different districts of the governorate due to the lack of cash.  The national ID is considered one of the most legal documents that facilitates the movement of people and their access to various services.

 

The above-mentioned activity is one of protection, shelter and CCCM project activities funded by United Nation High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). The activity was implemented by YARD in coordination with SCMCHA and the relevant authorities in the governorate.
