Yemen Al-Khair Foundation for Relief and Development (YARD) has played a pivotal role in humanitarian response efforts, contributing to the alleviation of the suffering of internally displaced persons and Yemeni communities affected by conflicts, wars, and natural disasters.
The Foundation began its journey through voluntary activities and humanitarian initiatives in 2010. In 2013, it obtained its official license from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, marking the beginning of a new phase of structured humanitarian fieldwork in partnership with active local stakeholders and through the implementation of broad community-based and humanitarian initiatives.
Between 2013 and 2016, YARD successfully implemented a number of small-scale projects in partnership with local organizations, demonstrating a high level of efficiency and effectiveness. In 2017, the Foundation qualified to work with international donors and United Nations agencies, including the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Its partnerships later expanded to include the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
In 2020, YARD became a partner of five United Nations agencies, in addition to several international organizations and private-sector institutions. In 2025, the Foundation entered into new partnerships with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), marking the beginning of a new phase of engagement in agriculture and livelihood development.
Today, YARD continues to implement humanitarian and development programs across a broad range of sectors, including:
Protection, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Education, Food Security and Livelihoods, Health and Nutrition, Shelter and Non-Food Items, Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Agriculture, Economic Empowerment and Capacity Building, Peacebuilding, and the Protection of Historical Sites and Buildings.
The Foundation has dedicated its efforts to maintaining an effective field presence and ensuring rapid response during emergencies. Its interventions have expanded across several governorates, including Al-Jawf, Hadramout, Shabwah, Al-Mahrah, Aden, and Dhamar, targeting displacement sites and the most affected communities in accordance with humanitarian standards and prioritized needs.
On this occasion, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the YARD team, whose dedication and hard work made these remarkable achievements possible. They have worked tirelessly, day and night, to deliver assistance to those most in need.
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all our partners, including donors, government entities, private-sector institutions, and local communities, who have been and continue to be an integral part of our success.
Together, we will continue our noble humanitarian mission, working toward a more sustainable, prosperous, and hopeful future.
May Allah guide us all in serving our beloved homeland.
