YARD Holds Training Workshop on Enhancing Protection and Inclusion of People with Special Needs in Humanitarian and Development Projects
With joint efforts between the governorate and local organizations, Yemen AL Khair for Relief and Development Foundation (YARD) held an exceptional training workshop in Al-Jawf Governorate, Al-Hazm District on (16 – 17) April 2024. The workshop focused mainstreaming protection concepts and inclusion of People with Special Needs in humanitarian projects.
The workshop witnessed a distinguished presence by representatives of the Supreme Council, the Director of Persons with Disabilities Association, the Directorate-General of Social Affairs and representatives of local organizations and community. The workshop aimed to exchange experiences and knowledge among attendees, and enhance cooperation to improve participation of Persons with Special Needs.
The workshop included a series of inspiring lectures and interactive sessions delivered by special trainers in this field. The training workshop highlighted the importance of concerted efforts to promote the protection principles into humanitarian projects and to enhance the participation of People with Special Needs in the community.
During this workshop, the participants exchanged experiences and practices in protection concepts and inclusion of People with Special Needs in addition to the strategies to be taken in order to fulfil positive change in this area.
This workshop is considered an important step towards building an active and equal community, where all individuals access equal opportunities and effective participation in the humanitarian and development activities. This initiative reflects a strong commitment from the governorate and local organizations to promote the rights of People with Special Needs and provide a common environment that promotes tolerance and coexistence in the community.
