YARD Launches Safe Drinking Water Trucking Operations for IDPs in Khab wa Al-Sha
Al-Jawf Governorate | September 2026
As part of its ongoing life-saving humanitarian interventions and efforts to enhance access to safe water for affected households, Yemen Al-Khair for Relief and Development Foundation (YARD) officially launched water trucking operations on September 29, 2026. The intervention delivers safe and clean drinking water to displaced families and host communities in Al-Rayan camps (Al-Sudaihat and Al-Jawfah) in Khab wa Al-Sha'af District, Al-Jawf Governorate.
This activity is implemented under the "Integrated Life-Saving Response Project to Improve the Lives of Conflict-Affected IDPs and Host Communities," funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), and in coordination with the Executive Unit for IDP Camps Management (ExU) and the General Authority for Rural Water Projects (GARWSP).
The intervention specifically addresses the severe water crisis resulting from the total lack of clean, potable water sources in these camps, while mitigating health risks associated with water scarcity. Over a duration of 90 days, a total volume of 7,020 cubic meters of clean drinking water will be distributed—ensuring an average of 15 liters per person daily—directly benefiting 5,200 individuals and alleviating daily living hardships for vulnerable households.
YARD reaffirms its unwavering commitment to working alongside humanitarian partners and relevant authorities to deliver essential relief services to underserved areas and improve the living conditions of affected communities across Al-Jawf Governorate.
