YARD Holds the Seventh Annual Ceremony of its Establishment

YARD  organized the seventh annual founding ceremony (seven years of giving) on Saturday, December 26, 2020, in the courtyard of Al-Bustan Hotel in the capital city of Sana'a. The ceremony was attended by representatives of international and local humanitarian organizations, social figures and all the foundation's staff.
The ceremony was started by verses from the Holy Quran and the National Anthem. After that, the Chairman of YARD welcomed all attendees, and expressed his sincere thanks to all workers in the field of humanitarian work that contributed to serving the society. He also mentioned the role of the Supreme Council for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, which facilitated all the difficulties and challenges pertaining to the arrival of relief aid.
On the other hand, the Chairman of YARD  focused in his speech on the role of supporting youth initiatives that will actually become successful, if they are advocated and assisted by everyone so as to crystalize them and bring them into existence in a way that serves their communities. He added that even if the initiatives were small, they would be of major importance one day, if they were managed in a transparent manner financially and administratively .
For his part, he also referred to sustainable projects that present the finest examples, such as improving livelihoods, calling on all supporting organizations to direct their attention to those projects because of their actual impact in changing the families' life for the better. He backed up his assertion by referring to the words of the Messenger (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) when he said, "Craftsmen fall not into neediness”.
It is worth noting that the ceremony was full of informative activities such as documentary films about the achievements of a number of different projects implemented by the Foundation in several areas, the most important of which are:
  • Education
  • Health
  • Water Protection, Emergency Shelter, Camp Coordination and Camp Management/ funded by the UNHCR
  • Emergency Response RRM/ funded by UNFPA
  • Emergency Response to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene/funded by UNICEF
  • Life-saving interventions in water and environmental sanitation, shelter and camp management/ funded by YHF
The ceremony was concluded with various humorous sketches performed by a number of creative and funny Yemeni artists and actors, which had a curative effect on all attendees.
