The Representative of UNICEF in Yemen on a Visit to YAR’s Office in Al-Marashi district, Al-Jawf governorate.
The representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) along with a number of the organization’s employees of Sana’a and Sa’ada offices paid a visit to Al-Marashi district, Al-Jawf governorate, to meet the humanitarian players and service providers, last Friday Feb. 12, 2021. The head and the executive director of the foundation were among the first to receive UNICEF visiting team.
The visiting UNICEF team headed by the representative of the organization in Yemen Philip Duamele held a meeting with the humanitarian work partners in the governorate in the office of (YARD) in the Al-Marashi District. The meeting was attended by the director of SCMCHA of Al-Jawf, the director of the health office and GARWASP, in addition to institutions working in the humanitarian field in Al-Jawf Governorate.
At the meeting, the head of the Foundation welcomed the visiting team and thanked their visit to closely examine the humanitarian situation in Al-Jawf Governorate. He confirmed of the importance of the support provided by UNICEF through funding the projects that the Foundation has been implementing, stressing the impact in alleviating the suffering of children and women in light of the ongoing conflict and the ongoing displacement in the governorate. On the other hand, the director of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation and the Director of the Health Office of Al-Jawf discussed the projects of priority to be implemented during 2021 in Al-Jawf governorate, especially in light of the absence of most organizations working in Al-Jawf Governorate, except for a few local foundations, including Yemen Al-Khair Foundation for Relief and Development.
At the end of the visit, the UNICEF team paid a visit to “Al-Dhela’a Water Project” in Al Sha’ra’ area of Al-Jawf governorate which had been previously implemented by the Bena Foundation, funded by UNICEF.
