YARD Concludes the Training Course for the First Group "Empowering Women on Income-Generating Handicrafts"

On Wednesday, 20/10/2021, YARD concluded the training course for the first group to women empower training on income-generating handicrafts in coordination with the SCMCHA and International Cooperation in Al-Jawf Governorate.
 
This intervention comes within the activities of the community center for the protection project funded by UNHCR.
 
The training targeted 15 trainees of displaced women to learn how to make hand crafts and household utensils consisting of pine trees and palm sticks, which are used to preserve bread and foods and to provide sweets for holidays and occasions. It also included a lot of educational and cultural activities, including teaching arts and marketing.  outputs aim to help trainees enter the labor market and compete while maintaining product quality and continuity.
 
YARD's programme Manager Mr. Khalid Al-Laith, the director of the community center Mr. Naji Mariq, and the representative of the SCMCHA in the district honored the trainees and distributed an empowerment kits, that are consist of a set of empowerment materials for such products.
In conclusion, the representative of SCMCHA urged the establishment of such courses because of their significant impact on the benefit of the trainees, and he also noted the creation of other opportunities such as sewing and raising livestock.
 
In this context, the Director of the Community Center praised the importance of discipline and commitment to the timetable cycle, which provided the trainees with sufficient time for training through the technical products and assortment that were reviewed, stressing, for his part, the support of YARD to purchase those offered products in support and encouragement to the trainees.
