YARD Concluded the Course of Winter Clothing Sewing
On Tuesday, 21 December 2021, Yemen Al Khair for Relief and Development (YARD) concluded the training course to empower women on winter clothing sewing activity. This activity was implemented in coordination with the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and in Al-Jawf governorate. This intervention is part of the Community Centre activities that is funded by UNHCR, where the course targeted 10 displaced women trainees to learn the how to sew all kind of winter clothing. At the end of the training, the trainees got honored by The Community Center supervisor, Mr. Naji Maraq, SCMCHA representative Mr. Wael Soufan and the area director Mr. Fahd al-Majlis.
The outcome of the course had a significant impact on getting female trainees into the labour market so they can improve their income and livelihood through the production of winter clothing to support themselves and their families.
The representative of the Supreme Council of the Directorate praised the significant impact of establishing such courses on the trainees. Moreover, the community center supervisor urged the trainees to continue producing and selling products on the market and encouraging them to use the marketing approach for their products.
At the end of the ceremony, an exhibition was opened to sell the products of the trainees, there was a marked interaction in purchasing the products by visitors.
