YARD Launches the Process of HKs, Filters and Water Tanks Distribution to the IDPs and the Host Community in the Affected Areas in Al-Jawf Governorate
On Saturday, January 8, 2022, the Yemen Al-Khair Foundation for Relief and Development (YARD) inaugurated the distribution of the HKs, water filters and water tanks in Al-Hazm - Al-Khalq districts of Al-Jawf Governorate. This intervention was funded by UNICEF and in coordination with the SCMCHA – Al Jawf branch, to alleviate the suffering of IDPs in various districts as a result of conflicts and wars.
The distribution process took place along with providing community awareness sessions for the beneficiaries to enhance the behavior of family members towards safe personal hygiene practices and limiting the spread of diseases among the targeted communities.
The inauguration was attended by Mr. Abdel Fattah Al-Abbar SCMCHA representatives of Hazm district and Mr.Nasser Abu Zour the director of Al-Khalaq district.
In the meantime, the distribution process for water filters started in of Bart Al-Anan district to meet the needs in the targeted areas to promote hygiene practices and reduce the spread of diseases to prevent their transmission through water pollutants. Awareness sessions, in this regard, were provided to the beneficiaries during the distribution process and the practical application of the beneficiary on how to use and maintain proper Hygiene Kits.
This intervention comes within the project of WASH emergency interventions for IDPs and affected communities in Al-Jawf Governorate, in coordination with SCMCHA of the governorate.
