YARD Provides the Psychosocial Support to the IDPs
Yemen Alkhair for Relief and Development Foundation (YARD) is providing several protection services to mitigate the suffering of internally displaced and war affected population. One of these protection services is provision of Psychosocial Support for PoCs that experience several psychological issues such as Distress, Depression, Anxiety Post Trauma and Psychosocial Disorder due to conflict, displacement and the critical living conditions resulted by the war. To alleviate the suffering of internally displaced and other affected population, the psychosocial support team provides psychosocial first aid including individual counseling and psychosocial support. The psychosocial support services were of great positive effects and could help the targeted BNFs cope with the critical living situations in the place of displacement and facilitate their inclusion in the community. During 2022, the psychosocial support team at he IDPs CC team provided psychosocial support for 1800 BNFs most of whom are internally displaced. In addition, the team referred 211 cases experiencing serious psychosocial issues to external service providers including Family Counselling and Development Foundation (FCDF) which provides medicine for the referred cases.
This activity was implemented through IDPs CC protection, shelter / NFIs and CCCM project funded by UNHCR in coordination with SCMCHA sub office in AL Jawf governorate.
