Supporting Community Initiatives (Cash for Work) to Pave Al Balsa Road - Bart Al Anan District, Al Jawf Governorate

In aim of facilitating access of displaced and host community families to various basic services including hospitals, water sources and education. Yemen AL Khair for Relief and Development (YARD) implemented road pavement activity in Rahoob area in Barat AL Anan district in 2023. The pavement activity was implemented through Cash for Work modality (CFW) which aimed at involving the community in the activity implementation and encouraging community initiatives.  

The activity implementation was achieved in mutual exerted efforts of YARD and the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit (C E D I U) and in coordination with Supreme Council for Managing and Coordinating Humanitarian Affairs (SCMCHA) in Al-Jawf Governorate.

The pavement activity included pavement of 240 linear meters focusing on rough parts of the road. The activity serves about 3345 individuals that can hardly access basic services due to rough roads in the area.

 This activity is a part of the activities of the Protection, Shelter, NFIs and CCCM project funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
