Community Initiative in Rajuzah District, Al Jawf Governorate

Within the joint efforts between the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit (CEDIU), the local authority, and the Supreme Council for Managing and Coordinating Humanitarian affairs (SCMCHA), Yemen Al Khair for Relief and Development (YARD), implemented the paving activity for AL Shaqab road in Rajauzah district, AL Jawf Governorate. The paving activity was successfully implemented during November, 2024 within the Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) as part of the activities of Protection, Shelter and CCCM project funded by UNHCR. 

 

The project was implemented using dry paving with Rabrab Paving with concrete cements in addition to construction of water drainage channels and retaining walls to protect the road from damage. The activity was successfully implemented through Cash for Work modality (CfW) which aimed at improving livelihoods for the community in the district.

 

Diesel and cement were provided by the Emergency Interventions Unit under the supervision of the local authority and SCMCHA office in the governorate.

It is worth to mention here that the activity was funded by both:

• Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit (#CEDIU)

• United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (#UNHCR).
