YARD Distributes Home Garden Seeds to 1,000 Vulnerable Households in Habban District

Habban District – Shabwah Governorate


Under the Yemen Food Security Response Project, Yemen Al-Khair for Relief and Development Foundation (YARD), in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), implemented a seed distribution activity for home gardening in Habban District, Shabwah. The initiative reached 1,000 of the most vulnerable families in the area.

The distribution launch was attended by local authorities, Agriculture Office officials, and community committee representatives. The distributed seed kits included tomatoes, okra, red onions, molokhia, and chili peppers, aiming to empower families to produce their own food and enhance their resilience. This intervention is part of ongoing efforts to improve livelihoods and ensure sustainable food security through home production.
