Governor of Shabwah Discusses Funding Mechanisms with YARD to Boost Water Security

Governor of Shabwah, Awadh Mohammad Bin Al-Wazir, met with the Executive Director of Yemen Al-Khair Foundation for Relief and Development (YARD), Eng. Jamal Ahmed Bahaj, to discuss mobilizing funds for valley restriction projects aimed at enhancing groundwater recharge and supporting the agricultural sector.

The meeting reviewed initial studies for the first phase covering Dhura'a, Al-Ausha, and Ain valleys, with plans to complete technical assessments for remaining sites based on priority needs. The Governor highlighted the local authority’s commitment to water security and praised the foundation's efforts, while Eng. Bahaj reiterated the foundation’s dedication to securing the necessary funds to implement these strategic projects.
