YARD Holds WASH Sub-Cluster Meeting in Al-Hazm District, Al-Jawf Governorate
YARD held WASH Cluster meeting in Al-Hazm District in Al-Jawf governorate on Sunday, July 26, 2020. The meeting was chaired by Governor Amer Ali Al-Marani.
During the meeting, interventions and programs of humanitarian organizations were discussed.
Mr. Hasan AlQasimi the Deputy Governor for the districts of Upper Jawf, the director of the Rural Water Authority branch – Mr. Abdullah Karshan, and the director of SCHMCHA Branch – Mr. Khaled Shajea, and representatives of a number of local organizations and foundations attended the meeting. The Governor emphasized on the needed cooperation of local authority with all organizations to deliver humanitarian assistance and to mitigate the suffering of citizens.
In addition, the governor pointed to the citizens' suffering due to the absence of water projects ... calling upon the organizations to increase their interventions in the WASH, and to expand the circle of the targeted areas to benefit the largest segment of society.
The meeting reviewed the interventions of the organizations and the first response lines for the Sudan project in Bart Al-Anan district, as well as the project of Al-Maton Center that was handed over to GARWASP sub- office in the area which was implemented by YARD and funded by OCHA. Moreover, Emergency Response Project funded by UNICEF was implemented by YARD. The project aimed to install and implement water points and extensions.
It is worth mentioning that YARD will also implement another WASH project funded by UNICEF in five districts ( Al-Hazm – Al-Khalq – Al-Maton – Al-Maslub – Al-Ghayl ) in which the following interventions are to be done in the period of the project, i.e. starting of August 2020 till the end of the same year.
Water Trucking for 82 HHs' locations whether IDPs sites or affected communities.
Install 500 latrines all over the IDPs sites and the affected communities.
Conduct promotion sessions for IDPs.
Provide and install plastic water tanks 2000 L in capacity for 82 locations where IDPs and affected communities exists.
