Funded by UNHCR, YARD implemented Camp Coordination and Camp Management project, CCCM in 32 locations at 6 districts in Al-Jawf governorate (Kharab Al-Marashi, Barat Al-Anan, Al-Matammah, Az-Zahir, Al-Humaydat) from Oct, 1st to Dec. 31st 2019.
The foundation has provided support, coordination, needs assessment, and requirements of locations maintenance via field assessment. Intervention has been made in the scope of water for four locations due to their priorities. The intervention has executed as follows:
Rajuzah District- Dahya Site:
20 families live in this location with one drinkable water source i.e. 15M depth Water Borehole. Water extraction is being done by a pail and a rope which puts a huge risk on women and children's lives. YARD has established a Full Solar system, Water tank base, Water tank and wellhead cover.
Al-Marashi District - Al Eiynah Site:
20 families live in this location with one drinkable water source which is exposed and subject to pollutions and diseases spread through the spread of mosquitos. YARD has covered the water source from mosquitoes and cleaned the 2000 L water point with chlorine.
Al-Marashi District - Al Maqam & Alomq Site:
33 families live in this location and they suffer from the scarcity of water. YARD has constructed a water point with 2000 Liter-capacity tank and connected it with the nearby well.
Al-Humaydat District - Al-Waghera Site:
Al-Waghera sub-district is a preferred area for a lot of people due to the existence of hot Sulfur water there in which a lot of people believe that it is a way for healing from some diseases; therefore, visitors and sick people are always there. People there are suffering from solid waste pilling up which causes infections to them. YARD has Installed water point and solar system for the well with 450M depth.
Barat Al-Anan District - Rahoob Site:
The air strikes that hit most of the sub-district were so close to the location. This caused damages and tent burns; therefore, life basic needs were affected. YARD has constructed 3 buildings instead of the burnt tents following coordination with the shelter cluster.
