Rapid Response Mechanism is designed to provide immediate live saving emergency assistance to the most vulnerable families who are newly displaced because of conflict or natural disasters and in hard-to-reach areas.
The RRM package Assistance is comprised of the following components:
- Immediate Response Ration (IRR) provided by WFP, which is Ready to eat food provided.
- Family Basic Hygiene Kit (BHKs) provided by UNICEF.
- A Female Dignity Kit (TK) provided by UNFPA.
Generally, the importance of Rapid response mechanism goes beyond the distribution of RRM kits, as the RRM activates and facilitates the sequencing of other critical assistance modalities for those families. RRM will enhance and contribute better analysis of protection risks, coping mechanisms and humanitarian needs through the Rapid Multi-sectorial need assessments as one of its activities to serve as primary source of information management for first-line data, collecting IDP data using harmonized and updated household registration forms that capture initial disaggregated data and information related to CCCM, WASH, Protection, Education and other clusters for better planning and informed decision making on the subsequent cluster-based response.
