About the Project

Funded by UNICEF, YARD implemented The Rehabilitate School Sanitation Facilities project in Al-Jawf governorate for 17 schools in seven districts (Al-Matoun, Al-Homaydat, Al-Zahir, Al-Mattamah, Kharab Al-Marashi, Bart Al-Anan, and Rajozah). The project implementation came as a response to the existing needs for an environmental sanitation system, rehabilitating health facilities, and creating a safe school environment for students. Among the activities that were implemented was the community awareness activity against the Corona pandemic - (Covid 19) during the months of March and April 2020. The activities also included the distribution of 500 posters that were affixed to marketplaces and the doors of mosques and schools.

Verbal awareness: spreading awareness messages through loudspeakers in a number of mobile cars in all targeted districts, as this method reached almost the entire community, in addition to that, and in particular, coordination was made with Imams of 12 mosques who played their role in spreading Awareness messages on Friday sermons.

Distribution of hygiene and sterilization materials: Awareness teams were formed to distribute necessary sterilizers to sterilize the hands and feet of incoming worshipers, as the team at the doors of mosques sterilized the worshipers for 2,105 people.
