The Representative of UNHCR Sa'ada and Al-Jawf Branch in an Inspection Visit to Al-Hazm District of Al-Jawf Governorate
On 3rd,4th of Oct. 2021, Mr. Omaid Ayoub , along with a team from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), visited the Office of SCMCHA – Al-Jawf Branch as well as Yemen Al-Khair Relief and Development Foundation Office (YARD) in Al-Jawf governorate., Mr. Khaled Shaja, the general Manager of SCMCHA and Engineer Abdullah Thawabah the chairman of Yemen Al-Khair Relief and Development Foundation were there to welcome the visiting team.
The meeting was held in SCMCHA Office of Al-Hazm district. Mr. Shaja welcomed the visiting delegation, expressing his thanks and appreciation to UNHCR for its visit as their first visit to the Al-Hazm district, providing all facilities for field visits to all humanitarian organizations to learn about all the basic needs of IDPs and host communities in all areas.
The meeting also discussed UNHCR's interventions in Al-Jawf governorate in protection, shelter, emergency shelter, CCCM through Yemen Al-Khair Relief and Development Foundation during 2021. Referring to the joint efforts of the Foundation and the Supreme Council through coordination and joint cooperation,
During the meeting, the visitors conducted field visits to two IDPs sites among the 51 sites operated by YARD in Al-Jawf governorate. In addition, the field visit extended to a distribution point for shelter items and cash assistance distribution points. At the points of distributions, the visitors have discussed with a number of beneficiaries the extent of their satisfaction from the cash and shelter assistance.
On the sidelines of the visit, the visiting delegation met the headquarters of SCMCHA with the agent of Al-Jawf governorate, some of SCMCHA representatives, YARD team and a number of the public figures of the district, and focused on sustainable projects and the provision of sustainable shelter services through the construction of shelters, which will help those who have been displaced to return to their homes in Al-Ghayl district.
