YARD Inaugurates Lifesaving and Sustainable WASH project in the Targeted Areas of Shabwa Governorate

As part of its humanitarian and developmental efforts in many governorates across Yemen, YARD Al-Khair Foundation inaugurated sustainable and life-saving services in the field of water, sanitation, and hygiene in three targeted districts in Shabwa Governorate, funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund.

The project includes implementing a number of WASH activities related to the establishment and rehabilitation of water and sanitation systems, in addition to the distribution of hygiene and water disinfection materials, in addition to conducting hygiene promotion awareness sessions accompanied by implementing cleaning campaigns. YARD will also ensure the training of local community on the management and maintenance of water systems.

The executive director of the foundation and the project team made a field visit to the implementation sites in Ataq, Haban, and Radoum districts, with the participation of representatives from the General Authority for Rural Water Projects and the local authority, to coordinate with the concerned parties and introduce the objectives and outputs of the project.

The project aims to improve the health and environmental situation of more than 26,363 individuals living in areas lacking clean water and sanitation services and to reduce the risks of waterborne diseases, such as cholera, that threaten people's lives.
