Distribution of Sheep to Support Sustainable Livelihood Activities in Al Jawf Governorate
Yemen Al-Khair for Relief and Development (YARD), with funding from Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) and in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs (SCMCHA), successfully implemented a sheep distribution activity to promote sustainable livelihoods on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The activity involved the distribution of 240 sheep to 60 female beneficiaries in Khabb wa Sha'af district, with each woman receiving four sheep. Additionally, local feed cubes and salt stones were provided to support the livestock-rearing efforts.
The distribution process was overseen by the governorate's Agriculture and Livestock Office, ensuring that all sheep underwent the necessary health checks to guarantee their well-being. This activity aligns with YARD's ongoing efforts to strengthen livelihoods and improve the economic conditions of vulnerable households. It forms part of a broader project aimed at bolstering protection services, CCCM, and education for vulnerable people in the governorate.
