YARD Implements the Transitional Shelter Activity (TS) in Al-Jawf Governorate
In light of the difficult conditions faced by displaced families, safe housing becomes more than just a basic need; it is a fundamental right for survival and the transition from temporary shelter to semi-permanent accommodation.
Yemen Al Khair for Relief and Development (#YARD) implemented the transitional shelter activity in Al-Jawf Governorate for 260 families, distributed among the districts as follows:
- Directorate of mourning: 184 families.
- Al-Zaher Directorate: 30 Families
- Bart Anan Directorate: 46 families.
Details of the activity:
- It consists of rooms 5.5 m long and 3.5 m wide from the block.
- A door with 2 iron windows.
- Roof made of corrugated plates (zinc) hanger with iron barriers to support the roof of the transitional shelter as well as thermal insulation.
Goals of activity
- Providing a better environment for the displaced and affected families.
- Contribute to stabilizing the situations of the displaced and affected.
- Providing a safe and suitable shelter.
It is worth mentioning that this activity is part of the joint efforts undertaken by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (#UNHCR) in collaboration with its partner, Yemen Al Khair for Relief and Development (#YARD). This initiative falls under the activities of the Protection, NFIs/ Shelter and CCCM Project, in coordination with the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs (#SCMCHA).
