About the Project

With poverty and absence of basic life needs, epidemics spread all over Yemen and especially in front line areas. Al-Jawf governorate had many cholera cases that affected their health and took some of their lives.
YARD as a humanitarian agency, responded to this infection with the Cholera Outbreak Emergency Response Project, funded by UNICEF. The project targeted five districts (Al-Khalq – Al-Hazm – Kharab Al-Marashi – Al-Maton – Al-Humaydat). In addition, the project activities were covering most of the areas' WASH needs i.e, sewage suction of overflowing cesspits – water network extensions – Awareness promotion – HKs distribution – latrines installation. 
 

Al-Hazm District
YARD has implemented the activity of sewage suction of overflowing cesspits which targeted 110 cesspits. The number of BNFs reached 3016 individuals. Additionally, the awareness promotion activity was implemented and targeted 750 HHs. Moreover, 1500 BHKs were distributed for 10500 BNFs.

Al-Khalq District
YARD has implemented the activity of installing 10 water points and supplied them with potable water. The number of beneficiaries added up to 6667. In addition, YARD implemented 10 latrines distributed in the most vulnerable areas. The number of beneficiaries added up to 200 beneficiaries. Moreover, the awareness promotion activity has been implemented for 750 households, and 1500 hygiene kits were distributed for 10500 beneficiaries.  

Al-Maton District
YARD has implemented one water point with the capacity of 5000 L in the area of Al-Saleel camp. The number of beneficiaries added up to 333. In addition, the awareness promotion activity was implemented for 750 households, and 1500 hygiene kits were distributed for 10500 beneficiaries.

Al-Humaydat District
YARD has implemented 6 latrines, 3 for men and 3 for women in addition to the installation of one water point with the capacity of 5000L. The number of beneficiaries added up to 453. Moreover, the awareness promotion activity was implemented for 750 households and 1500 hygiene kits were distributed for 10500 beneficiaries.   

  
Kharab Al-Marashi District
In Kharab Al-Marashi district, YARD has carried out 110 suction operation for the overflowing sewage cesspits with 3016 total number of beneficiaries. Moreover, the awareness promotion activity was implemented for 750 households, and 1500 hygiene kits were distributed for 10500 beneficiaries.
