Funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), Yemen Alkhair for Relief and Development (YARD) implements a comprehensive, multi-sectoral intervention to address the urgent humanitarian needs of displaced and vulnerable populations in Khab Wa Ash Sha’f district.
The project will deliver integrated assistance across the Shelter/NFI, WASH, Education, and Rapid Response Mechanism (RRM) sectors to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of displaced persons and the most vulnerable groups in the Khabb wa ash Sha'af District.
In Al Mohtafer, Al Dasaws, Al Shujayrat, Al Qira, Al Musharim, Mashaniqh and Al Saydayhat IDP, YARD will focus on providing life-saving interventions sites.
As follows:
- Shelter/NFI: Provision of 100 emergency shelter kits, 600 non-food item kits (including energy kits), and maintenance support for 100 shelters to improve living conditions for 800 displaced families (6,159 individuals) in Al Rayyan IDP sites.
- WASH: Delivery of 9,609.3 m³ of safe water, construction of 30 gender-sensitive latrines, and distribution of 800 hygiene kits to promote hygiene for 13,376 IDPs in Al Dasaws, Al Shujayrat, Al Qira, Al Musharim, Mashaniqh, and Al Saydayhat.
- Education: Establishment of 10 temporary learning spaces with furniture, two drinking units with water tank and pump, provision of 967 school bags, and 21 monthly incentives for teachers to ensure safe education for 967 students in Al Mohtafer.
- RRM: Immediate delivery of 1,500 rapid response mechanism kits (IRRs, hygiene kits, dignity kits) to newly displaced households within 72 hours of displacement.
In Al Bijh, Al Khor, and Zarib areas of Al Sha’af sub-district, YARD will implement similar life-saving interventions. as follows:
- Shelter/NFI: Provision of 100 emergency shelter kits, 300 non-food item kits (including energy kits), and maintenance support for 100 shelters to improve living conditions for 500 displaced families (3,867 individuals) in IDP sites.
- WASH: Distribution of 500 hygiene kits and construction of 50 gender-sensitive latrines in Zarib area to ensure safe sanitation for 4,542 individuals and reduce waterborne disease risks.
- Education: Establishment of 6 temporary learning spaces in Al Bija and Al Khor schools, including furniture, two drinking units, 275 school bags, and 22 monthly teacher incentives to support 275 students (119 girls and 156 boys).
- RRM: Immediate delivery of 1,500 rapid response mechanism kits (IRRs, hygiene kits, dignity kits) to newly displaced households within 72 hours of displacement.
