Project Overview

Funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), Yemen Alkhair for Relief and Development Foundation (YARD) implements the Integrated Life-Saving Response Project for IDPs and Host Communities in Al-Jawf Governorate.

 

Project Objective:
To deliver immediate life-saving interventions and protection assistance to vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities across key areas in Al-Jawf Governorate, improving food security, access to safe water and sanitation.

 

Main Project Components:
 
1. Food Security and Agriculture Cluster (FSAC) Assistance:
- Unconditional Cash Transfer: Provision of cash assistance for food to 500 targeted households.
- Distribution Rounds: 6 consecutive and continuous distribution cycles.

$106 monthly standard assistance value per household.- Transfer Value:

2. Protection Sector Interventions:
- Cash for Protection: Provision of emergency cash assistance to 900 cases.
- Case Management: Specialized case management services provided for 50 cases.
- Legal Assistance: Legal aid and documentation assistance for 700 individuals.
- Psychosocial Support (PSS): Provision of psychological and social support services to 450 individuals.
- Community Structures: Formation and support of 4 Community-Based Protection Networks (CBPNs).
 
3. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Services:
- Water System Rehabilitation: Maintenance and rehabilitation of the water scheme in Mashniqah camp with periodic testing, serving 9,660 beneficiaries.
- Water Trucking: Trucking and supply of 7,020 m³ of safe drinking water (at a rate of 15 liters per person daily) for 5,200 individuals.
- Hygiene Kits & Sanitation: Distribution of 585 hygiene kits and construction/installation of 20 accessible latrines designed for the elderly and people with disabilities.
