The project targets displaced people and host communities and aims to response to the challenges related to the spread of cholera, in addition to enhancing the access of displaced and affected communities in Habban, Ataq and Radoum districts to clean water supplies through emergency response to their needs by transporting clean water to their areas by trucks, as well as rehabilitating and establishing water and sanitation systems in the targeted areas.
The project targets 26,363 people through integrated activities in water, sanitation and hygiene as follows:
Water Activities:
Improving the access of displaced people in the *targeted locations to clean drinking water by transporting it by trucks to the points that will be in Ataq district.
1. Rehabilitating the Shabika water project in Ataq district.
2. Establishing a tower water tank in Ataq city.
3. Rehabilitating the Al-Aqida water project - Habban district.
4. Rehabilitating the Lahia water project - Habban district.
5. Rehabilitating the Arqa water project - Radoum district.
Sanitation:
1. Establishing emergency toilets in the displaced sites - Ataq district.
2. Sewage network project in Ataq city.
Hygiene:
1. Promoting community awareness of the proper means and behaviors of personal hygiene through community awareness.
2. Distributing hygiene kits and disinfection tools.
